Heat Transfer Projects Making

To complete my heat transfer projects at home, I purchased HTV vinyl material directly from the xTool official website. AI Creat Original Design and Preprocessing

To start using the xTool heat press machine to make something DIY, I created the design using AIMake. AIMake is a powerful AI tool that can help me generate amazing designs. When I get the designs from AIMake, I use xTool Ultra M1 to cut the pattern on HTV Vinyl.

In this DIY project, I want to make the design more colorful, so I plan to cut 3 sheets of different color HTV vinyl. Just drag and drop the design on the XCS, select the blade cut mode, and select the material as heat transfer vinyl. Then, it will set the cutting parameters automatically, which recommends using a fine-cut blade, and set the cutting pressure as 320 g and the cutting speed as 80 mm/s.

Blade Cutting HTV Vinyl

Using xTool M1 Ultra to cut the HTV vinyl is super easy. The xTool heat press HTV vinyl is also easy to cut and weed out. Maybe there is something to note. Before cutting, you should mirror your design on XCS software and then place the shiny plastic side down on the cutting mat. After cutting, just like below, take out the workpiece and weed out the negative part.

After cutting three colors of heat press HTV vinyl, I got the final cutting pieces. Just put them on my white canvas bag and begin to heat transfer.

xTool Smart Heat Press Transfer

Set the proper temperature using the wireless controller for this xTool heat transfer HTV vinyl as 300℉. The wireless controller is easy to use; you can pre-set 3 levels of temperature and timing you need, or use the freedom setting function like me. I set the temperature as 300℉, and the timing is 20 seconds for this HTV vinyl. After preheating, just pull down the smart heat press and press the start button on the wireless controller to start the 20-second countdown.

The smart heat press preheating is efficient, and it can heat from room temperature to 149°C (300°F) in about 2 minutes. When the smart heat press’s temperature reaches your set, the indicator light will turn from yellow to green. After a 20-second heat countdown, the HTV vinyl was heat-transferred onto the canvas bag.

As you can see in the picture below, the HTV vinyl is firmly heat transferred onto the canvas bag, and at this point, you just need to peel off the clear plastic on its surface to get a great-looking DIY canvas bag.

Similarly, it is fun to personalize custom heat transfer t-shirts. I used the same method to generate a creative design on AIMake and then cut the HTV vinyl with the M1 Ultra. xTool smart heat press at 300 degrees F for 20 seconds, and I got an original t-shirt!

If you want to adjust the downward pressure more, you can turn the knob on the top of the xTool smart heat press so that you can change the downward pressure by adjusting the height of the iron.

All in all, the xTool smart heating press works great. It eliminates the need to manually lift and press down, which saves effort and keeps the heat transfer graphics from distorting.

Mini Heat Press Review

There is also a mini heat press, which is suitable for small-size heat transfers. It is very compact and lightweight and can be used for heat transfers up to an area of approximately 70 mm * 50 mm. Like the large area smart heat press, it can also be used for temperature and timing settings via the wireless controller.

By inserting the signal receiver into the slot of the mini heat press and connecting it to the wireless controller, you can set the temperature and time via the wireless controller just like the smart heat press.
